Vegas, Nevada - Sin City Day2

Finally had a morning to relax instead of packing the bike and riding, am really gonna enjoy the day. Found out once again it helps who you know cuz while waiting for the shuttle to take me to the Harley shop, decided to have a Nathan hotdog and after telling them I knew a Nathan and loved his hotdogs, got it for free…yep, even have the receipt to prove it – thanks Nate. Thanks to Mike, Mary and Rudy too, the bike was done and ready to go, but this time who you know didn’t make a difference - a little pricey, but hey, this is Vegas…nothings cheap.

It is hotter than hell here…wait, already used that for New Mexico, so let’s just call it Ungodly hot – that’ll fit for ‘Sin City’. The temp gauge on the bike was reading over 110 and saw a bank sign reading 106, so believe me it’s hot. Again, get away from the strip and you wonder how can anyone live and work here. Still more fun flying in on an air conditioned plane, taking the AC shuttle and staying in the AC casino, the only problem is the in and out, but don’t do too much of that and you can handle it.

Well, since it wasn’t a day for doing too much riding on the bike, figured gotta checkout the rides on the Stratosphere and man are they fun. Figured a full day pass to experience both night and day is the thing to do, and its tough saying which is better, but the best ride out of all was definitely Insanity, hell you have to be insane to hang over the edge of the building swinging around like that, but hey, that’s just another day in my world. Got to sit next to a little blonde, Crystal, but that’s only because here girlfriends legs were too big for the ride – can you imagine, getting kicked off a ride cuz you don’t fit? haven’t had that happen yet.

Hey, checkout the other cool thing I got to do, ride my bike along the strip…that ranks right up there with riding it in downtown Milwaukee, the Tomahawk parade or downtown Sturgis – well, ok downtown Sturgis is much more fun, but that depends on who’s on the back and how much clothing she has on…ok, so it’s still something I can say I did, but not something I’d to too often, way too many vehicles on the strip and it takes forever to get thru.. The other problem, the streets are slippery, probably because of all the melted rubber on the roads, so don’t hit the brakes too hard –that’ll break the rear tire loose, even though it is new. Also, don’t forget the shell – yep, helmet law in this state so it doesn’t help getting pulled over by a cop…oh, yea, should have gotten a picture of that, but hey, I’m just gonna listen to him when he’s giving me a warning instead of a ticket.

Now while in Vegas gotta do some gambling so after Olive took such good care of me with dinner and a few drinks, hit the crap tables…tonight wasn’t the night for craps, but hey, tomorrows a new day. Stay tune, more to come from Sin City. Todays clean pics.
